Cathy Barton

Catherine is a Consultant Solicitor in our Family Team specialising in cases where social services are involved with children.  She represents parents, children and family members in care proceedings.

She is a Member of the Law Society’s Children Panel and has practiced as a specialist in this area of law for over 20 years. She was previously a partner and head of family team at a firm in Somerset.  Following a career break she worked for several years as a locum across the South West.  She joined Woollcombe Yonge as a consultant in 2021.

Catherine has wide experience in complex cases involving non-accidental injury, physical, sexual & emotional abuse, parental mental health and substance misuse issues, chronic neglect and cases involving international & immigration issues.

Outside of work Catherine like to grow vegetables and go running, and often combines the two whilst managing her small market garden.
