1.What is your proudest accomplishment (either personal or professional)?
When I was working in Saudi Arabia, I had the opportunity to learn to dive. One big problem was I hate having to go under water. In the end I was told if I couldn’t overcome this fear I wouldn’t be able to carry on as you have to be able to jump from a boat into the water and I couldn’t even jump in a swimming pool when we were being taught. I eventually managed to do it and I was so happy as when I got to dive it was amazing seeing all the beautiful sea life under the water.
2.What do you like most about your job?
The time goes so quickly from as soon as I start the day to finishing. You just get absorbed in the cases and the person I work for is great at getting me involved and giving me responsibility. It is a nice feeling when everything is completed and you move on to the next matter.
3.What do you like least about your job?
Hard one – if I was being pushed it would have to be scanning especially when you have lots of old deeds and documents to scan in as they are all different shapes and sizes. It becomes quite challenging working out how to get a get a clear copy!!
4.What is the best gift you’ve ever given/received?
I think that would have to be when I was learning to ride a motorbike my husband bought me a learning motorbike (for you motorbike enthusiasts out there it was a red Honda CG125) for me to practice on. I loved that red bike!
5.What does your ideal day look like?
Think it would have to be a lovely brunchy kind of breakfast with a good coffee, it would have to be a lovely sunny day, lovely walk and then finish up on a beach watching the sun setting followed by Fish and Chips and a sneaky G&T!!!
6.What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love travelling and seeing different places to explore, good walks, bit of exercise, baking and reading.
7.What is your dream job?
I am not sure I have a dream job. I think everyone could turn their hand to most things depending on their situation at a given time, but saying that I always wanted to be a nurse and looking back I would have loved to have tried to have gone done that route.
8.What was the most interesting case you have dealt with at work?
I am not sure I can give an example of an individual interesting case – all I can say is that I find all the cases quite interesting as they are individual to that person and as stated in my answer above about my job, I am lucky that I am able to be quite involved in the matters that it makes it more personal and interesting for me.
9.Where is one place you’d love to travel to?
My ideal destination would be South Africa with a stop to Botswana on the way there or back to do a safari.
10.What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
An old boss told me once when I had not long started to work “never assume” and that has stuck with me.
