Lucie Jones – Junior Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year

We are incredibly pleased to announce that Lucie Jones has won the Junior Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Award at this years Plymouth Law Society Annual Dinner at the box, Plymouth.

The awards recognise the exceptional contribution of Plymouth's young legal professionals who go above and beyond in their roles within their organisations and also in the wider community.

Rebecca Wood, partner and solicitor-advocate at Woollcombe Yonge nominated Lucie for both the Junior Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year and Junior Lawyer of the Year awards. There were 3 nominees shortlisted in the Legal Aid Lawyer category with the awards being voted on by members of the PLS Committee.

Lucie says "I am very pleased to have won the award for Junior Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year, criminal litigation is not a very popular choice for new lawyers and as one of the youngest criminal defence solicitors in Plymouth I am very pleased that the hard work we do in this area of law has been recognised, it is by no means an easy job but I wouldn’t change it for the world! Huge thank you to my wonderful supervisor Rebecca Wood for nominating me and for the rest of the Crime Team at Woollcombe Yonge for the constant support and encouragement!"
