£1000 raised for Gifted Women Bingo and Raffle Fundraiser
Woollcombe Yonge have raised £1000 for local Plymouth based charity Gifted Women.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Raffle and Bingo night last night in support of our Charity of the Year, Gifted Women and to celebrate International Women’s Day . We had an amazing evening with lots of new and familiar faces, as we enjoyed an evening of raucous bingo, courtesy of local drag artist Cinderfella, and lots of generous fundraising.
There was a real buzz to the night with Cinderfella taking front and centre for the bingo, and raising more than a chuckle from the crowd with lots of inuendo and tongue in cheek naughtiness.
A special thanks goes to Lucy Linn, CEO of Gifted Women and Chrissy, one of the Gifted Women, who came to share their story, and how these funds can make such a difference to local women. Gifted Women are a small charity based at Mutley Baptist Church who support women in Plymouth and the surrounding areas to move towards, and into employment. They work with women who are rebuilding their lives after facing homelessness, problematic substance use, or the justice system – experiences often shaped by trauma, domestic abuse, exploitation, and poverty.
We are thrilled to announce we raised a huge £1,000 for Gifted Women through ticket sales for the event and our generous visitors purchasing raffle tickets.
Thank you to the plethora of local business's who donated a gift for the raffle. The gifts were all gratefully received, and ensured we superseded our fundraising target for the night.
We have lots more plans for 2026 on how to raise more funds for Gifted Women, including our annual Quiz night which will be on October the 1st at Boringdon. Keep your eyes peeled for updates as soon as we have them.
If you are a local business interested in donating a raffle prize for our Quiz night in October, or if you would like to donate to Gifted Women directly please contact Sarah on 01752 660384.
