Woollcombe Yonge attend Secondary School Careers Event

We had the pleasure of attending the Hele’s School Careers Fair in Plympton this week.

Natalie Dingle, Chartered Legal Executive in Residential Conveyancing, and Raegan Leather, Solicitor in our Private Client department, both attended the event and were able to give two different perspectives, having pursued different routes to qualification.

The purpose of the evening was to give students and their parents/guardians information, advice and guidance aimed at Choices, Progression, Careers and the World of Work.

Students in Years 8-13 and their parents/guardians were invited to come along to the Fair where they had the opportunity to meet with us and ask any questions they may have pursuing a career in law.

We understand from the Careers Team at Hele’s that the vast majority of students plan to stay at Hele’s to study A Levels in sixth form, and the school believe that it is vital that they and their parents receive independent information, advice and guidance.

We are glad to see that Hele’s also recognise that some students may be better suited to a Level 2 Apprenticeship or a Vocational pathway that is not offered at Hele’s in Post 16. These students receive more personalised guidance at school, but they know that they will value information and guidance about options for this pathway after Year 11 from other employers attending the fair.

"As a family we found the service provided to us was delivered with ’empathy’ and was in fact ‘outstanding’, we would most certainly recommend Woollcombe Yonge to friends.”
