Lucy Linn, CEO of Gifted Women visits Woollcombe Yonge
Lucy Linn, CEO of Gifted Women
Lucy Linn, CEO of Gifted Women came into the Woollcombe Yonge office this week to talk to the team about the amazing work Gifted Women do
This week, Woollcombe Yonge Solicitors were delighted to welcome Lucy Linn, CEO of Gifted Women, to our Bretonside office. Lucy spent time with our team sharing the incredible work the charity does to support women across Plymouth, and how every pound raised helps unlock pathways into employment.
Lucy spoke about their trauma-centred approach, explaining that the biggest barriers to employment are often not CV writing or interview skills, but helping women feel safe and rebuilding trust over time. Their 18-month Flourish Programme is designed with this in mind—supporting women at a pace that works for them.
Based at Mutley Church, just off Mutley Plain, the charity works alongside women for up to 18 months, offering tailored support to build confidence, develop skills, and take meaningful steps towards employment.
At Gifted Women, the team recognise that while trauma can shape someone’s journey, it does not have to define their future. Progress isn’t always linear, and setbacks are part of the process—but every woman is met with understanding, not judgement.
We are proud to have chosen Gifted Women as our Charity of the Year. To support this, 14 members of our team will be taking part in this year’s Plymouth Run (half marathon and 10k) to raise vital funds. Last month, we also hosted an International Women’s Day event, raising £1,000 for the charity—and we have many more fundraising activities planned throughout the year.
