WOOLLCOMBE YONGE PROUD SPONSORS OF HUGS FROM HENRY AS CHARITY OF THE YEAR

WOOLLCOMBE YONGE PROUD SPONSORS OF HUGS FROM HENRY AS CHARITY OF THE YEAR

We are thrilled to announce Hugs from Henry as our chosen Charity of the Year for 2019.

Hugs from Henry is a Plymouth based charity and supports families affected by childhood cancer, neuroblastoma from diagnosis, through treatment and post treatment. The Hugs from Henry team aims to grow the charity to be able to support hundreds of families who are forced to deal with neuroblastoma across the UK.

As part of our sponsorship, we are also this year’s headline sponsors for the charity’s Strictly Come Dancing themed ball.

The Strictly Hugs Dancing ball is one of the most anticipated events in the Hugs from Henry calendar. It sees novice dancers teaming up with professionals to compete for first place, all in aid of raising money for this amazing charity.

Elsbeth Hallam, founder of the charity, says “I’m ecstatic to have the support of Woollcombe Yonge going ahead this year. The Strictly Hugs ball is a highlight of our year and is the coming together of individuals in our community for the purpose of raising money for the charity but also to raise awareness of Hugs from Henry and what we do. This year also sees the launch of our first Respite home, and the start of our newest service that we will provide to families with childhood cancer. Our charity is still in its infancy and the support of Woollcombe Yonge means we can develop and grow to accommodate the 100s of families who are living with a childhood cancer diagnosis.”

Woollcombe Yonge will continue to support Little Things & Co, the baby bereavement charity, who were our chosen charity in 2018. This will assist them with raising awareness for the impact that baby loss can have and to assist promoting the Charity’s services offering practical and emotional support to those who have suffered the loss of a precious child.

"As a family we found the service provided to us was delivered with ’empathy’ and was in fact ‘outstanding’, we would most certainly recommend Woollcombe Yonge to friends.”
