Leadership Event at Derriford Army Reserve Centre

On Thursday 20th February 2020 a team from Woollcombe Yonge attended a Leadership and Teamwork event, arranged by the Army Reserves, at Derriford Army Reserves Centre.

This event was organised by the Commanding Officer of 165 Port and Maritime Regiment, Royal Logistics Corps, in his capacity as the Army’s Civil Engagement Task Force Commander for Plymouth, in partnership with the Wessex Reserve Forces and Cadets Association and the Plymouth Armed Forces Covenant business group. In September 2019 Woollcombe Yonge signed the Armed Forces Covenant, pledging to support and raise awareness of the Armed Forces.

We had a team of six people who took part: Rebecca Wood, Natalie Dingle, Rebecca Bassett, Jade Bevan, Krista Doidge and Natasha Kent, all attended and joined in with the teamwork and leadership training. We were provided with an insight into the Army Values and Standards, which can be transferred into a business setting and make the British Armed Forces the best in the world.

Our Woollcombe Yonge team were also awarded the ‘spirit of the day’ award, for the effort and positive attitude that we put into the challenges that we were tasked to complete.

If you are considering joining the Army Reserves, please do contact us and we will be able to connect you with the Derriford Centre for further information.
