Housing Market Update

Following Boris Johnson’s announcement of a fresh ‘lockdown’ from tomorrow, the Housing Minister has confirmed that the housing market and construction industries are to remain OPEN.

There will be a few adjustments to be made, but here are the basics:

– Estate Agents will remain open and will be able to conduct viewings, although these will be limited to 15 minutes, 2 people maximum (with appropriate PPE) and available to ‘serious buyers only’;

– Removal firms will still be able to operate provided all relevant Covid precautions are adhered to;

– Conveyancers (as with the earlier lockdown) will continue to operate, but face to face appointments will only be available in exceptional circumstances.

Whilst the increased level of home working across the industry as a whole has the potential to lead to some minor delays in the Conveyancing process, the team at Woollcombe Yonge will continue to be available via telephone, video conference and email to ensure your transaction proceeds as smoothly as possible.
